The Australian Combined Schools Music Festival brings together some of the finest student musicians from around the nation to perform together under the guidance of outstanding national and international conductors. The biennial festival is hosted by different Schools around Australia, and in 2017 will be held by Canberra Grammar School in the heart of Australia’s National Capital. The four days of the festival (14 – 17 June 2017) will culminate in a gala concert in the Great Hall of Parliament House performance featuring impressive instrumental, choral and combined repertoire.
The Festival musicians form three high standard ensembles: the Festival Orchestra conducted by Benjamin Northey, the Festival Concert Band conducted by Ingrid Martin, and the Festival Choir conducted by Sam Allchurch.
