ACSMF FANFARE COMPOSITION COMPETITION 2019

 The 2019 ACSMF is providing the opportunity for one talented student composer to have their original fanfare performed as part of the Festival Concert in the John Vallance Hall of Sydney Grammar School.

CRITERIA
length 1-2 minutes
Instrumentation: Brass
Trumpet 1, 2, 3
Trombone 1, 2
Bass Trombone
Horn 1, 2, 3, 4
Euphonium
Tuba

At least three (3) types of brass instrument must be used.

Percussion – up to 6 players

1 X Set of 4 timpani
Standard orchestral percussion
Piano

Any subset of the above is acceptable

Style: Choice of style is left up to the composer, but should reflect the spirit of a fanfare and the Festival itself.
Difficulty: The piece needs to be playable by student performers with minimal rehearsal time.
Submissions: Score to be emailed to acsmf@sydgram.nsw.edu.au
No later than 3pm on April 3rd
Sibelius score (version 6 or later)
Your score must include all performance markings and directions.
Judging: A short list of compositions will be given to an external judge who will make the final choice.
Performance: The successful composition will be rehearsed during the Festival and
performed in the John Vallance Hall of Sydney Grammar School, as the opening
piece of the Festival Gala Concert on June 29th.
